Cathy Lafferty

Memorial services for Cathy Maie Lafferty of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Buttermaker’s Cottage in Western Gateway Park, Penn Valley.

Ms. Lafferty died Saturday, Nov. 2. She was 47.

She was born April 9, 1955, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Clifford Lafferty and Marjorie Marie Heath. She moved with her family to Santa Cruz when she was 3. She graduated from Monte Vista Christian High School in 1973 and received her certification in phlebotomy from Cabrillo College.



Ms. Lafferty worked as an office secretary for Dr. Nicholas Capos. She recently moved to Grass Valley to be close to her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacia Lafferty of Grass Valley; sisters Becky Lahr of Grass Valley and Linda Rete of Atlantic; nieces Amanda Lahr of Grass Valley and Amy Rete of Atlantic; and nephews Clayton Lahr of Grass Valley and Tim and Curt Rete of Atlantic.




Ms. Lafferty was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions are preferred for the Cathy Lafferty Memorial Fund, at the downtown Grass Valley branch of Bank of America.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
