Cary Nicely

Services for Cary Nicely of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Main Exhibit Building of the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Burial will be at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.

Mr. Nicely died Saturday, Jan. 24, at home. He was 57.

He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Tulsa, Okla., to Steve and Helen Nicely. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Venice High School and attended Santa Monica City College, and Long Beach State. He married Vicki Oct. 11, 1975, in Carson City, Nev.

He worked as an industrial coatings sales representative for International Paint Company. He was a member of the Clydesdale Breeders of the United States and the Northern California Marine Association.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was involved in the Cub Scouts, swim teams, 4-H Club, and Future Farmers of America with his son.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vicki Nicely of Grass Valley; son, Michael Nicely, in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas; and parents, Steve and Helen Nicely of Cleveland, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Twin Cities Church Building Fund, 154 Hughes Road, Suite 9, Grass Valley 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
