Carrie Christman

There will be a memorial service for Carrie Joy Christman at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, with a reception to follow. The Rev. Sam Floyd will officiate.

Ms. Christman died Friday, Oct. 25, in Costa Mesa. She was 39.



She was born in Grass Valley on May 22, 1963, to Errol and Meredith Hyatt Christman. She attended Union Hill Elementary School, Nevada Union High School (graduating in 1981), and Northridge and Questa College in San Luis Obispo.

She worked in Laguna as a graphic artist then started her own business, Krizma Designs.




She enjoyed living near and running on the beach. Her interests also included body building, antique motorcycles, motorcycle racing and painting.

She is survived by her mother, Meredith Christman of Cedar Ridge; father, Errol Christman of Grass Valley; brothers E. Kirk Christman of Nevada City and Aaron Christman of Grass Valley; sister, Amber Rae Christman of San Francisco; grandmother, Mrs. Floyd E. Hyatt of Penn Valley; aunt Nancy Pozos of Santa Ana; aunts and uncles Dennis and La Netta Smith of Grass Valley, Sue and Gary Archibald of Sacramento and Kathy and Jay Simmons of Rocklin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions are preferred to the Center for Eating Disorders Research, Townson, Md.

Arrangements are by Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
