Carolyn Louise McNabb died June 28 in Rocklin, just two and a half months after the death of her husband, Walter McNabb. She was 80.

Mrs. McNabb was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Napa, to Mervyn H. Manasse and Frances Tessin Manasse, who were natives of Napa. Mrs. McNabb was known as “Carrie” to family and friends.

Carrie graduated from Napa High School in 1944. She then attended Art School in San Francisco. She married Walter Johnston McNabb Jr. on Dec. 30, 1945, in Napa. The McNabbs lived in Napa for 32 years, then moving to Nevada City to a home they built. In June 2007 they moved to Rocklin. The McNabbs celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Carrie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing, cooking and playing cards. She devoted herself to her family and friends.

Carrie is survived by her daughters Susan and Carolyn McNabb of Rocklin; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Fred Biergiel of Nevada City; sister, Virginia Brenner of Napa; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and dear friend. Her kindness, humor and friendship will be greatly missed.
