Carl Turnboo

Carl David Turnboo died Feb. 28 in Grass Valley. He was 74. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 12, at French Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Turnboo was born Feb. 17, 1934, at the Placerville Sanitarium. Members of his family were pioneers and the family was one of the founding families of El Dorado County. He grew up and was raised in El Dorado County. He attended El Dorado Union High School and served as a Marine in the U.S. Marine Corp during the end of the Korean War.

He worked in the woods and forests of Northern California for most of his working life. He became a log truck driver and drove for many years until he retired.



Mr. Turnboo was a well-known man who had many friends and acquaintances in and around several Northern California towns.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.




Mr. Turnboo is survived by his daughter, Jannean; sons Carl David Turnboo II and Shawn Turnboo; four grandsons; six granddaughters; a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cora and Alvin Hugh Turnboo; and daughter, Shandra Turnboo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
