Carl Milne

Carl Christian Milne, 77, formerly of Nevada City, died Monday, Sept. 9.

Mr. Milne was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo., to Frank and Renee Milne. He was raised in Nebraska and on cattle ranches in Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona. He moved with his family to Richmond in 1942. He married Bernice Brown in February 1944.



They lived in San Jose, then moved to Nevada City in 1959. He was in the grocery business for 30 years, retiring in 1975. After retirement, he and Bernice toured the United States in their travel trailer, settling in Davis in 1990.

He enjoyed square dancing and home repair. He was a member of the Nevada City Masonic Lodge No. 13.




He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bernice; daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Rick Knee of Davis; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Rich Knee III and Desma Knee of Woodland; and great-grandchildren Vivian and Eli Knee of Woodland.
