Carl Eccarius

Carl David Eccarius, 65, of Grass Valley died Monday, Jan. 17, in Grass Valley.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.

Mr. Eccarius was born July 10, 1939, in Rapid City, S.D., to Bernard and Shirley (Judson) Eccarius. He married Betty on April 26, 1986, in Virginia City, Nev. He worked as a truck driver for Valley Aggregate Transport for more than four years. He was a collector of antiques and enjoyed refinishing furniture.



He is survived by his wife, Betty Eccarius of Grass Valley; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Julie Eccarius of Grass Valley, and Anthony and Heather Eccarius of Grass Valley; stepdaughter, Barbara Terrell of Loomis; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Becky and Robert Hight; stepson, David Terrell; brothers Bernard Eccarius of Lydon, Wash., and Richard Eccarius of Rapid City, S.D.; grandsons Mathew and Nicholas Eccarius of Grass Valley and Deven Hocking and Tyler Hight of Yuba City; granddaughter, Alexandria Eccarius of Grass Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Eccarius, on Oct. 15, 1980; mother, Shirley Eccarius, on Feb. 2, 1979; and sister, Shirley Skutt, in 1996.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
