For the 17th consecutive year, downtown Grass Valley will turn into a place of envy for car enthusiasts for five hours.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 300 street rods, modifieds and classic and custom cars will be displayed during the annual Grass Valley Downtown Car Show.

Cars entered in the show are from 1972 and earlier.

Besides talking to the owners of the classic automobiles and checking out their rides, spectators can enjoy street fair food, car-related crafters and ongoing music.

Awards in 20 categories will be presented at 3 p.m.

The car show on Mill and Main streets is sponsored by the Grass Valley Downtown Association. There is no admission charge for spectators.

Call the downtown association at 272-8315 with any questions.
