Captain’s corner

Wow! Can you believe our numbers! We are 203 teams and 1041 participants.

We really are “ordinary people doing extraordinary things.” To show our pride, we’ve ordered special T-shirts brandishing the Meltdown logo and the “extraordinary” mantra. They will sell for $8 at our Tuesday, Feb. 17, meeting. Get one to wear in the Mardi Gras parade on Sunday, Feb. 22, or as a memento of your participation in Nevada County’s first Meltdown. Another reason to come Tuesday night – Lisa Swarthout of Mill Street Clothing is distributing 10 percent off coupons. Bring the coupon to her store with an article of clothing (for which you are now much too thin) to get the discount. The new you deserves a new look!

A final reminder – I encourage you to get your weekly team weight in on Mondays. Be sure to use our new e-mail address,

No e-mail? Call me at 478-1540 on Monday. See you Tuesday. Remember to bring money for a T-shirt.
