Can’t get enough?

Like to read about wine and have too much time on your hands? There is nothing like the World Wide Web for squandering endless hours surfing different wine sites or blogs.

Technorati is an Internet search engine that specializes in analysis of weblogs, indexing more than 75 million of them. It recently compiled a list of the most important wine weblogs world-wide and discovered eight of the top 10 originate in the United States. However, they measure links and make no comment on the content of the blog.

Here Technorati’s top 10:

1. Vinography,

2. Stormhoek, http://www.storm

3. Fermentation, ferment

4. Winelibrary TV,

5. Wine Outlook,

6. Bainbridge on Wine,

7. Dr. Vino,

8. Winecast,

9. Spittoon,

10. Lenndevours,

In an unrelated article, Mickey Butts offers his commentary: “The Internet has spawned thousands of self-proclaimed wine critics. Here are the bloggers who truly have something to say.”

He then goes on to list his top seven blogs:

1. The Wine Importer,

2. Vinography,

3. Jamie Goode’s Blog,

4. Dr. Vino’s Wine Blog,

5. Veritas in Vino,

7. Wine-tasting in French vineyards,

As you can see, Vinography and Dr. Vino made both lists, so maybe those are good places to start. You will find hours of entertainment on these sites, if you like that sort of thing.

And if all those are not enough, go to The Wine Blog Watch, at wineblogwatch.arrr. net, and really while away those sleepless hours. I counted more than 450 blogs on that site. I’ll see you in about a thousand years.
