Butterfly Garden of Remembrance returns for fourth year

The Union staff

Community members can publicly express their thoughts about deceased loved ones Saturday to Monday through the fourth annual Butterfly Garden of Remembrance sponsored by Friends of Hospice.

Doubling as a fund-raiser for the Hospice of the Foothills, the garden will feature laminated personal messages hung with ribbons from butterfly stakes placed for each remembrance on the Hooper & Weaver Mortuary lawn. Each remembrance is $15.

Reply forms for special messages can be found in The Union’s ads. In addition, reply cards can be picked up at Weiss Brothers, B&C Garden Center, Hospice of the Foothills, Ruby’s Fine Gifts and Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.

Reply cards must be received by the Hospice of the Foothills office (12399 Nevada City Highway in Nevada City) by today, or messages can be hand-carried to Hooper & Weaver at 459 Hollow Way in Nevada City during the weekend.

Friends of Hospice volunteers will be at the Butterfly Garden from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days. Call Hospice of the Foothills at 272-5739 for more details.
