Vets’ Forget-Me-Not campaign next week

The L.H. Benson Chapter 122 of Disabled American Veterans will hold its semi-annual Forget-Me-Not campaign Wednesday through April 6.

On those dates, Forget-Me-Nots – small blue flowers of remembrance – will be handed out by DAV volunteers on street corners and at businesses in Grass Valley, Nevada City, Marysville, Yuba City and at Beale Air Force Base.

Funds raised by the project will be applied directly to the assistance of local disabled veterans and their families during the coming year, according to Dorman D. Gill, commander of the DAV chapter.

Funds collected in the last Forget-Me-Not drive were used to help members meet their medication bills, provide transportation to medical facilities, and provide temporary shelter to homeless veterans.
