The Penn Valley Area Chamber of Commerce has created a slogan that accentuates the all-around great lifestyle found in Penn Valley. “Penn Valley … like no place on earth” is the saying imprinted on shirts and colorful caps, for both men and women. As a sponsor of the 26th annual Roots & Wings Golf Tournament the Penn Valley Chamber will be providing lunch to participating golfers. The Tournament will be held on, Sunday Oct. 9. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Roots & Wings Education Foundation, an organization that provides resources that support and enhance the opportunities for the students attending Penn Valley Union Elementary School District. The Greater Grass Valley Chamber is working on the production of “Postcards from Grass Valley”, a publication that will feature local businesses and places to visit in Grass Valley. An informational talk will be presented at the Sept. 21 South Nevada County Chamber community breakfast meeting. It will feature a presentation by Dollar General Store representatives who will focus on the proposed new Dollar General Store in Alta Sierra. The meeting will be held at The Dive restaurant, 10934 Combie Rd., in South County at 7:30 am. The cost to attend is $10 per person.
All of the Chambers of Commerce have begun planning holiday activities in their respective areas. Victorian Christmas in Nevada City, Christmas in the Pines in South Nevada County, Cornish Christmas in Grass Valley and Holiday Lights in the Park in Penn Valley.
