Senior businesses “pitch” event is Wednesday in Sacramento

Aging2.0, a global platform to find the most promising startup businesses for aging and senior care, will host an event Wednesday in Sacramento.

The event is one in a series of 30 run in partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs designed to discover, showcase and support aging-focused entrepreneurs around the world via 30 startup pitch events in 30 cities in 30 days.

“The Oct. 7 event will allow budding entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas in front of a panel of judges and experts — like a Shark Tank for baby boomer-specific businesses,” said spokesperson Catherine Arthur.

Arthur said the startups will compete for various prizes.

“Among other prizes, one local startup will be selected to go on to virtual semi-finals event, and then a select few will then be invited to present at the Aging2.0 Expo in November,” she said.

The free event runs 6 to 8 p.m. at The Shop, 1630 I St., Sacramento.
