PV vintner earns gold from Chronicle

Indian Springs Vineyards in Penn Valley earned a gold medal and Best of Class in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

It won the awards in the $16 to $25 price category for its 1999 cabernet sauvignon.

Indian Springs also won awards for its other entries, including silver medals for its 2000 chardonnay, 1999 syrah and 1999 merlot; and bronze medals for its 1999 sangiovese and 1999 cabernet franc.

The competition had a total of 1,228 entries.
