Attorneys Joseph J. Bell of Grass Valley and Nanci G. Clinch of Nevada City, co-chairs of the “Law Month in Nevada County” activities, received an Outstanding Law Day Activity Award for 2001 at the American Bar Association’s mid-year meeting Feb. 2 in Philadelphia.

The ABA chose six award recipients from all Law Day activities throughout the country.

Law Month in Nevada County last year was a collaborative effort of the Nevada County Bar Association, Nevada County courts, 3rd District Court of Appeals in Sacramento, Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office, Nevada Union and Bear River high schools, Gold Country Kiwanis and Nevada Union Key Club.

The ABA award noted the organizers’ “outstanding commitment to expanding the public’s understanding of the rule of law and the positive role that law plays in our society.”
