All booked up: Independent Bookstore Day is almost here

Independent Bookstore Day marks its fifth year of celebrating independent bookstores nationwide on Saturday, April 27, with literary parties around the country. The Book Seller in Grass Valley will be celebrating with giveaways, goodies, and games.

“Independent Bookstore Day is essentially a day-long party,” said Mikala Stroud, an employee of The Bookseller. “We’re inviting the community to come celebrate with us at Nevada County’s oldest independent bookstore.”

The Book Seller will also offer exclusive day-of merchandise created especially for Independent Bookstore Day by major publishers and authors. Since its inception in 2014, more than 200 authors have demonstrated their support for independent bookstores by donating work for Bookstore Day.

The Bookseller is located at 107 Mill Street in Grass Valley.
