Bush rips off seniors

A few days ago, Bush put on his “compassionate conservative” mask, and told senior citizens what a great job he’s done assuring they have access to affordable prescription drugs and health care. And the very next day, the Bush administration announced the biggest rise in Medicare fees ever.

If you know anyone who’s retired, or close to retirement age, make sure they know that next year they’ll be paying $11.60 more a month for doctor’s visits, a whopping 17 percent increase. The reason for the increase? An “improved” drug benefit that doesn’t even bring prescription medications down as low as you can get them over the internet, that prohibits seniors from obtaining their medications from Canada. A prescription drug “benefit” that’s been called a windfall for prescription drug manufacturers.
