Bush needs to ask for help

It’s puzzling why the unconstitutional Bush administration continues to get support. Despite the Iraq boondoggle, resulting in countless ruined lives, war crimes, a rapidly growing domestic police state, gross political and legal system abuses, the looting of our national treasury benefiting corporate war profiteers, the loss of world esteem, and escalating warfare, some still stand by Bush and Cheney.

Aside from the obvious inference that some supporters profit from the situation, why would anyone with an open mind and reasonable intelligence remain steadfast?

I finally figured it out: Despite their tough guy posturing, Bush and Cheney, and at least some supporters, don’t have the strength and courage to admit mistakes.

That said, there is one thing they are right about: We have created a terrible situation for thousands of innocent Iraqis who will be slaughtered when we leave. I recently rewatched the movie “Three Kings” (about the aftermath of the ’90s Iraq/US Gulf War). The movie starts as an action/adventure lark but evolves into a provocative anti-war film – co-starring actual Iraq war refugees – and graphically illustrates the fate of innocents.

Bush needs the courage and strength to apologize to the world, and us, and ask for help.
