Bullard Fire 10 percent contained

A firefighting force of nearly 900 has the Bullard Fire in Yuba County 10 percent contained.

The fire had burned 850 acres by Saturday evening, threatened 40 residences and forced widespread evacuations near Bullard’s Bar Dam and Marysville Road, three miles ease of Dobbins.

The fire’s spread slowed Saturday and is burning in steep, rocky conditions in the North Yuba drainage, CalFire reported. Firefighters will continue battling the blaze tonight with dozer and handline construction.

One injury was reported in the effort. The cause is still under investigation.

Firefighting agencies include the US Forest Service, Yuba County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol, North San Juan Fire, Dobbins- Oregon House Fire Dept, Camptonville Fire Department, Linda Fire Department, and California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
