Built-in firefighting help?

After I called 911 last week to report a lightening caused fire in the forest, right across Gas Canyon in Cascade Shores, it took two hours for help to arrive. It was a pretty scary time. All of the personnel and equipment were committed to other fires that had started simultaneously. Once they got on it they did work all night and were successful in putting out the fire. Fortunately it was not windy. We all got lucky!

Sierra Pacific Industries owns that land. Why can’t S.P.I. train and have their loggers ready to fight fires? They know the terrain. They would be helping save their vested interest, helping the community by saving houses and maybe lives. They could fill a desperately needed gap.
