Bruins still unbeaten, unscored upon

Bear River’s freshman football team continued its dominant play at home Thursday, as the Bruins notched their fifth shutout, downing visiting Whitney 34-0.

For the season, Bear River (5-0, 1-0 PVL) has outscored its opponents 169-0.

Johnny Jewett scored twice for the Bruins, once on a 30-yard pass from Brian Pedro and another on a 60-yard run.

Pedro scored on a 50-yard run, and Brandon Fry and Cole White scored on runs of 4 yards and 1 yard, respectively.

Brett Cox hit four of six extra points, and Colby Angus led the defense with three sacks.

The Bruins play again at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Placer.
