Bruce Brighting

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa for Bruce Brighting. Mr. Brighting passed away May 29 in Petaluma. He was 64.

Mr. Brighting was born June 2, 1942, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He has been a Sonoma County resident for the past nine years. He was the owner/operator of Boat Shop and Auto Repair Performance Marine in Colfax from 1979 to 1989.

Mr. Brighting enjoyed music, the Love Choir of Sebastopol, dancing, boating, puzzles, motorcycles, anything mechanical and helping everyone.



He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Brighting; son, Michael Brighting; grandchildren Erin Brighting and Michelle Brighting; daughter-in-law, Shari Brighting; sister-in-law, Sue McNichols; nieces Kari Chippero and Misty Sochin; and special friends Terrie Colen, Susan Grist and Diane Usher. Mr. Brighting was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Meyers.

Donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
