Family shares visit to India with an exhibit, travelogue
Join the Jorgensen family on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. at The Magic Carpet in Nevada City for a free rug and textile exhibit and multimedia travelogue.
The travelogue follows the family’s recent trip to India – to such places as the incredible Valley of the Flowers, which was in bloom at the time of their visit. They also visited the ashram of Sathya Sai Baba.
Besides sharing the stories and images of this pilgrimage, they will feature an exhibit of the beautiful and durable rugs made by the Zamin Rug Weaving Project located in northern India, as well as the museum-quality ceremonial and dowry embroideries of Gujarat, India.
“The intention of this evening and exhibit,” says Eileen Jorgensen, “is to reflect India’s soul-inspired creative genius and depth of spiritual knowledge, and you are invited to join in.”
The shop is located at 408 Broad St. Call (530) 265-9229 for more information. Refreshments will be served.
