The second and fourth Thursdays of the month are reserved for Celtic jam sessions at The Stonehouse in Nevada City, from about 6 (or 6:30 p.m. – “whenever everyone gets there,” says Shawn Haussler, one of the musicians) and lasting until 9 p.m. or so.

This isn’t a formal band-gets-up-and-plays sort of thing. Rather, it’s a bunch (10 to 20) of Celtic players who “get together to have fun, learn new tunes from each other, and jam, says Haussler.

“It’s also a good way for less mature players to gain experience from participating with the more advanced players.”

And you never know what you’ll get. It all depends on who shows up and audience participation.
