BREAKING NEWS: One victim named in Cessna crash

One of the victims in Monday night’s airplane crash near the Nevada County Airport has been identified as 51-year-old San Jose resident Edward Ross Castro.

The name of the second victim, a woman, was still being withheld tonight, pending notification of her next of kin, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Cessna 172K that Castro was flying was caught in foggy weather before crashing into trees off Greenhorn Road around 6:30 p.m.
