Not that the crowd will need warming up, but Nevada County favorites Mountain Laurel will do just that from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Cooper’s before the Stardust Cowboys take the stage.

Mountain Laurel has performed hard-driving, traditional and contemporary bluegrass for more than a decade at Northern Californian festivals and clubs.

With the exception of Kathy Barwick, who hails from nearby Sacramento, all band members are from Grass Valley and Nevada City.

Band members are leader and mandolinist Pete Siegfried, guitarist Ken Nilsson, banjo player Paul Siese, acoustic bassist Doug Bianchi and Barwick, who plays resonator guitar and sings tenor harmonies.

Saturday’s cover is $5. Cooper’s is at 235 Commercial St., Nevada City.
