Comfort Keepers, an international organization helping seniors and others live independently, recently opened a Grass Valley office.

Peter Stack, a Grass Valley native, is the organization’s local office manager.

Comfort Keepers offers companionship and nonmedical care to area residents. It has more than 550 locations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and Singapore, according to an organization release.

The new office is at 2059 Nevada City Highway. Prior to the local office opening, the organization served locals from a Marysville office.

Grass Valley now has two mailing/shipping businesses under the PostNet banner.

Jerry Maloney of Mountain Mail in the Pine Creek Center retired and sold the business to Roger and Dona Bergthold, who own PostNet in Glenbrook Plaza.

The former Mountain Mail opened for business as PostNet last week, including full-service shipping, packaging, copying, private mailboxes and notaries staying the same. Passport photos have been added to the services.

Both locations are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday.

Arctic Roofing of Grass Valley recently added a new product line, Neptune Coating Corp.’s Wetsuit, a rubber roofing material.

The material is seamless, nonflammable, water-based and comes with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty at no cost, Arctic Roofing officials.

For more information, the company can be reached at 477-5207.
