Sierra Cinemas has been recognized at the 2003 Business of the Year by the Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce. The organization also named Dalton Collier, owner of Collier Shoes, as its Business Person of the Year.

Other honors given during the Chamber’s annual Awards and Installation banquet included the presentation of the Chairman’s Award to Paul Norsell of the Nevada County Business Association and Ambassador of the Year to Teresa Carrigan.

The Chamber’s 2004 chairman is Paul Sieving of Paul Law GMAC Real Estate, chairman-elect is Bob Breck of KNCO, vice-chair Jeff Ackerman of The Union, past chair Ed Sylvester of SCO Engineering, treasurer Kim Zwick of Full Circle Financial, and members at-large include Grass Valley Police Chief John Foster.

A Rough and Ready bull has been listed in the 2004 Spring Sire Evaluation Report, published by the American Angus Association. Jack and Nancy Henderson own the bull.

It is one of 5,428 sires listed in the report, which “provides both Angus breeders and commercial cattle producers using Angus genetics with accurate, predictable selection tools for improving their herd,” according to the association.
