Big plays power Miners to win over Franklin (Stockton)

Nevada Union’s junior varsity squad thrived on big plays Friday night, earning a 35-21 win against Franklin (Stockton) to improve to 2-3 on the season.

Cameron Ryan rushed the ball three times and scored a touchdown on each carry, totaling 105 yards on the night. Ryan ran for a 60-yard touchdown, along with scoring runs of 20 and 25 yards.

Kory George also had a big touchdown run, a 63-yarder, that helped him to an 88-yard night on two carries. Joel Lemay had six carries for 34 yards, while Jared Ralph rushed for 13 yards on five carries.

Another big play for the Miners came on special teams, where Cole Stanford returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown.

Defensively, NU was led by Keenan Morris’ nine tackles. Jordan Mosburger had five tackles, while Henry Harrison had four stops in the win.
