Bid at Radio Auction, help community’s youth

The Nevada City Rotary Club does many fine things, one of which is to help out the youth of this community by funding scholarships and outreach programs.

The club’s 11th annual Radio Auction on Saturday is devoted to this cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Friendship Club Scholarship, Drew Reynolds Scholarship, Local Student Scholarships, High School Speech Contest Awards, High School Music Contest Awards, Rotary Youth Leadership Camp, 4H/FFA Auction and Rock Creek Outing for Disabled Students.

Here is how it works: All donations of goods and services will be listed in a circular in The Union that will be distributed before the auction; they will also be listed online at

Tune in to KNCO on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to bid on items.

According to Rotary officials, last year’s auction raised more than $22,000.
