Biblically based counseling offered

A new Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit opened its doors June 1. Anew Day, 154 Hughes Road, Suite 1, Grass Valley, 271-1100, provides free, biblically based individual counseling on all of life’s issues, from junior high through senior citizens.

Our goal is to equip clients with lifelong tools to deal with life issues. We want to offer healing, hope, answers, direction and tools to effectively deal with yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s pain. Whether through one-on-one counseling with a trained volunteer counselor or in a biblically based 12-step group setting, clients will find love, acceptance, identity, caring relationships, education, support and significance. All of our services are provided free and are confidential.

We will deal with addictions, eating disorders, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, divorce, communication, relationships, dating, pornography, drinking, drugs, sex, pregnancy, abortion aftermath, cutting, suicide, death, loneliness, gender identity, decision-making skills and developing one’s own identity.

Clients who have serious clinical needs will be referred to professional therapists in our community, who will charge for their services – most using a sliding scale.

Our trained lay counselors are under the supervision of a licensed marriage-family therapist and consult with the therapist on a weekly basis.
