Bernice Johnson

Bernice Lorraine Johnson, 81, of Colfax died Sunday, July 25, at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital in Grass Valley where she had been a resident.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no services.

Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 9, 1922, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Carl and Ingaborg (Andersen) Arnteson. She attended vocational high school, majoring in art studies. She married Donald Gustaf Johnson on Sept. 17, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minn. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed oil painting and reading, especially murder mysteries.



She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Darrel Moser of Colfax and Carol and Terry Pedersen of Minneapolis, Minn.; son, Larry Johnson of Oroville; brother, Alvin Arnteson of Minneapolis, Minn.; sisters Irene Laurel, Connie Watts and Margie Arnteson, all of Minneapolis, Minn.; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Elaine and Mike Druk of Minneapolis, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gustaf Johnson, in 1986; brothers Carl, Milton and Norman Arnteson; and sister, Lillian Mateoli.
