Bernice Castiglioni

Memorial services for Bernice Castiglioni of Nevada City will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. Father Tim Nondorf of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will officiate.

Mrs. Castiglioni died Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Grass Valley. She was 88.

She was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Santa Rosa, to Genevieve and Peter Guidotti. She married Louis Castiglioni on June 18, 1939, in San Francisco. She was an accomplished stained glass artist. She enjoyed her gardens and cooking holiday dinners for her family and friends.



She is survived by her daughters, Christine Castiglioni of Penn Valley, and Yvonne Arluck of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter, Denise Howitt of Seattle, Wash.; grandson, Matt Arluck of Chicago, Ill.; and great-grandson, Luke Howitt of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Castiglioni in 2005; and son, David Castiglioni in 1994.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills or Springhill Manor Nursing Home.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
