Berit Pipkin

Memorial services will be held at a later date for Berit Martha Pipkin of Grass Valley.

Mrs. Pipkin died Friday, Aug. 30, at a local hospital. She was 84.



She was born April 14, 1918, in Eckman, N.D., to Gullick and Olise Johnson. She married Kenneth L. Pipkin in Delano on Nov. 21, 1936.

She was a practical nurse for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Shafter, the PTA, and was a Cub Scout den mother.




She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Mary Pipkin of Penn Valley; grandson and his wife, Kevin and Tracy Pipkin of Castro Valley; granddaughter and her husband, Karen and David Gregg, of Castro Valley; and sisters Lutherine Strand of Woodburn, Ore., and Theolyn Martin of North Dakota.

She was preceded in death on Feb. 27 by her husband.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Pipkin’s name to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
