Benefit concert set for Free The Children

Two seniors from Nevada Union High School – Jennifer Bond and Sierrah Dietz – are producing a concert for their senior project. What is especially interesting is that all proceeds are going to Free The Children, a nonprofit club “of kids helping kids in third world countries,” says Bond. “Last spring, a fellow peer of mine named Anina Tweed started a chapter of Free The Children at Nevada Union High School. As a club, we have put together many fundraisers and raised money for a clean water system, and are currently raising money for schools in Sierra Lione.”

The benefit concert for this club will be at 6 p.m., Sunday, at Miners Foundry Cultural Center in Nevada City. Featured are The Eloi, Fresh Young Blood, Love in Binary and Eaten By Wolves – all of whom are local bands. Tickets at the door are $5. Call 265-3018 or e-mail for more infomation.
