Barbecue fund-raiser set for Search & Rescue group

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue, Inc.’s ninth annual cowboy-style barbecue fund-raiser Saturday includes a tri-tip or chicken dinner, demonstrations by search and rescue dogs, a California Highway Patrol helicopter and music by the Rough & Ready Fruit Jar Pickers.

The fund-raiser, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Nevada County Sportsmen’s Club, also features a raffle and children’s activity area.

The Sportsmen’s Club is at 11296 Banner Mountain Trail, off of Gracie Road in Nevada City.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children, and free for children 3 and under.

Proceeds will go toward the purchase of new equipment, implementation of the CareTRAK system and training for search and rescue members.
