Barbara Aplington

A private burial for Barbara Anna Aplington of Grass Valley will be conducted at The Protestant Cemetery in North San Juan.

Mrs. Aplington died Monday, Feb. 20, at Meadow View Manor in Grass Valley. She was 77.

She was born on Nov. 10, 1928, in Salem, Ore., to George and Margaret Lewis. She worked as a seamstress and was known as “Ann the Reweaver.” She enjoyed cooking until her stroke in 1998. She had been a resident of Grass Valley for 15 years.



She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George and Dana Aplington of Grass Valley; sons Dan Aplington of Camptonville and Jim Aplington of San Diego; sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Sam Orr of Oregon; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Desiree DeGarmo Aplington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospitality House.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
