Ballot counting is slow, due to 2-page ballot

Election results are streaming in much more slowly than in previous elections.

This is owed largely to the fact that this year’s ballot is two pages long, instead of the usual single page. For this reason it takes twice as long to count the votes than it does in a usual year.

Nevada County has not had a 2-page ballot since 1994.
