‘Awakening the Dreamer’ helps participants learn to live responsibly

The Union staff

“Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium” is a day-long community program and interactive multimedia presentation designed to help participants examine the benefits of a healthy planet, and how personal actions can make a difference in protecting the quality of life for children and future generations. It will take place at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center, 410 S. Church St., Grass Valley, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This program was developed by the Pachamama Alliance and has been made available to local communities, governments and educational institutions. The Alliance has been working for the past 10 years in South America and the U.S. toward creating a new global vision of equity and sustainability for all.

The hope is that by people taking responsible action in such areas as environmental sustainability and social equality, and by living happy and fulfilling lives, the community will be less vulnerable to future crisis and social degradation.

The event is free, although donations are welcome. Contact Michael Stone at 477-7757 or michael@awak enthedreamer.com for more information or reservations. Call 265-8870 to reserve child care. For more on the Pachamama Alliance, visit http://www.pacha mama.org.
