Author Enss to discuss books about Western clothing, doctors

The Union staff

Local author and historian Chris Enss, who has become an expert in all things Western, especially as they pertain to women, will talk about her most recent books at The Book Seller Saturday afternoon.

“How the West Was Worn,” a book about the bizarre, beautiful and inventive clothing of the Old West, and “The Doctor Wore Petticoats,” about 10 women doctors of grit, skill and determination, are the two books she’ll discuss. Enss is currently working with “Return of the Jedi” producer Howard Kazanjian on a film biography about Western stars Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.

The free talk begins at 3 p.m. at 107 Mill St., Grass Valley. Call the store at 272-2131 for more information. Listen to a taped interview with Enss on our Web site at http://www.theunion.com/entertainment.
