Austin Jowett

Austin T. Jowett, 91, of Grass Valley died Thursday, Nov. 28, in Grass Valley.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service. Burial will be at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Jowett was born on Sept. 8, 1911, in South Bend, Wash., to William and Ethel Jowett. He was married to Ruth L. Enos for 54 years. He worked as a newspaper pressman for more than 55 years. He was a member of the and served as international secretary and treasurer. He enjoyed traveling and had traveled throughout the United States.



He is survived by his son, Phillip Jowett of Oakland; stepson Jodie M. Keahey of Morgan Hill; stepdaughter Patricia Sullivan-Crawford of Novato; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Jowett, in 2002; and wife Ruth Jowett in 1997.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
