Audrey McBurney

Audrey McBurney, 96, of Cedar Ridge, died Saturday, March 18, at Spring Hill Manor Convalescent Hospital.

No services are planned.

Mrs. McBurney was born Feb. 7, 1910, in Portland, Ore. She was raised in Eureka and graduated from Oakland Tech and then from Willis Private Secretarial College in 1929. She married Ross McBurney in 1936, in Oakland. They moved to Cedar Ridge in 1946, and started the McBurney Tree Farm in 1956. She was a life member of the Union Hill School PTA, as well as the Ophir Hill Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.



She is survived by her son, Bob McBurney of Cedar Ridge; daughter, Sally Ackerman of Palm Desert; granddaughters Dawn Grass of Alpine Meadows, Eve Ackerman of San Diego; and great-grandson, Everett Grass of Alpine Meadows. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross McBurney in 1988.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
