Audience can take the stage for Miss Underestimated Pageant

Besides hearing local musicians at Saturday’s MoveOn fund-raiser in Grass Valley, audience members can also take the stage during a “The Miss Underestimated Pageant,” featuring talent and tacky evening gown competitions.

Attendees are encouraged to wear or bring gowns for the “Tacky Evening Gown” competition to be held during intermission. The competition is open to both sexes; manly tiaras will be provided for any male wishing to participate.

The diverse performers are Dan Scanlan, The Good Intentions Paving Company, Tome Wernigg, Marilyn Gale, The Sugar Plump Fairies, Albert Martinez, Tom Daly, John Irving and Diane Miessler.

Saturday’s fund-raiser is from 7 to 10 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center, 410 S. Church St.

Admission is $20. Tickets are at BriarPatch, The Book Seller, Harmony Books, Rebecca’s Mighty Muffins and at the door. All proceeds go to MoveOn.

A raffle will be held for items that include dinners at local restaurants, B&Bs and massages.

Child-care is available with reservations only.

Call (888) 340-6262 for any questions.
