At least 1 dead in small plane crash in Gilroy

GILROY — At least one person is confirmed dead in a small plane crash off Highway 101 in Gilroy.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says a single-engine SOCATA Rallye, a French-made airplane, crashed into a California Highway Patrol truck weigh station around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

It’s not immediately clear if anyone else was on board at the time, or if there were any injuries on the ground.
