‘Arts and Flowers’ to benefit Hospice

Friends of Hospice of the Foothills have been hosting a major benefit for hospice for 16 years. Called “Arts and Flowers,” it showcases over 40 area artists in a variety of medium including jewelry, photography, oils, watercolor, acrylics, sculpture, pottery, fabric art and wood works. A variety of floral arrangements complement the exhibits.

This year’s show takes place at Miners Foundry in Nevada City, Friday and Saturday. Thirty percent of each artisan’s sales is donated to Friends of Hospice. Often the artists also donate one of their works to the raffle, with winners announced on Saturday.

Donated wine and appetizers, coffee and cookies will also be served; music is by Emerald Mist (Celtic: violin and harp), Diana Marcus (piano), Patty Pauly on the accordion, Power Net (singing favorites) and Don Batson (piano).

Friends of Hospice raises funds for Hospice of the Foothills and, in fact, is celebrating its silver anniversary. Hospice is nonprofit and provides assistance and care to terminally ill patients and their families.
