Luciano, Mikey General and the Jah Messenjah Band are on a tour celebrating Bob Marley’s birthday. They have a gig Tuesday at Center for the Arts in Grass Valley.

To this day, Marley, who died of cancer at age 36 in 1981, remains a much-beloved reggae legend known internationally for his message of “one love” and world peace.

Jamaican baritone Luciano headlined the Bob Marley Birthday Celebration in Long Beach this week.

Vocalist Mikey General was on “Nah Give Up,” produced by Luciano. General is a British-born Jamaican whose family immigrated to Jamaica when he was 2. He and Luciano have worked together for a few decades.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at BriarPatch, Herb Shop Records, Harmony Books and at the door.

Doors open at 8 p.m. Show time is 9 p.m.

The center is at 314 W. Main St. in Grass Valley. Call 274-8384 or 583-2801 for more information.
