Arthur Roberts

Arthur Lavelle Roberts died Saturday, Jan. 25, in Grass Valley. He was 81. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.

Mr. Roberts was born on March 14, 1921, in San Francisco. He was raised in Northern and Southern California. He worked for Hearst Publications in Los Angeles for many years and served with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He lived in Pasadena and in later years worked for the Pasadena Star News. In 1983, he retired to Lake Wildwood. He was a golfer and sports enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty; daughter, Randi Roberts of Lake Wildwood; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Stephen Ennis of Honolulu, Hawaii; sister, Jewell Roberts of Venice; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary and William Gore of Lake Wildwood; sister-in-law, Ruth Galavan of Roseville; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
