Art exhibit raises funds for children

Grass Valley artist Natalie Cooke presents “Homes for the Holidays,” an oil paintings exhibit, at a month-long fund-raiser for Child Advocates of Nevada County.

Cooke’s works, featured at the Nevada County Fair, KVIE-TV Channel 6 auction and Crocker Art Museum auction, are displayed at the Chroma Gallery in Fair Oaks.

The “Homes for the Holidays” paintings portray area homes and scenes.

Child Advocates of Nevada County, a nonprofit organization, is conducting its annual See’s Candy sale at the Discovery Garden store, 762 Freeman Lane, Grass Valley. Added this year are the art exhibit and a toy sale.

“Any organization which takes care of kids is a good deal,” said Cooke, who will donate 20 percent of her painting sales at the exhibit to Child Advocates of Nevada County.

Fund-raiser hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 24.

Toys will be marked off 15 percent Friday to Sunday.

Call Child Advocates at 271-0650 for any questions.
