Art exhibit celebrates water

With a Yuba River/water theme, the “Celebrating Water and Color” exhibit by Nevada City artist Eileen Blodgett is up at Broad Street Books & Espresso Cafe.

Blodgett’s four mono prints and five watercolor paintings were created during the past year.

“Of course everybody living here loves the river, which has been a focus for my mono prints this year,” Blodgett said.

“When I looked around the studio at my watercolors, 75 percent have something to do with water. That was fascinating to discover.”

Blodgett’s watercolors are usually traditional landscapes and still lifes.

The “Celebration of Water and Color” exhibit will be on display through Sept. 15. Viewing hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays.

Broad Street Books is at 426 Broad St. in Nevada City.

For more information, call Blodgett at 477-8556.
